Sweet Avocado Drink
In every street of Marrakech, you’ll find small cafés that serves quick (take-out) breakfast and lunch. From sandwiches filled with amlou or kiri to omelettes to small tajines. In these cafés you have a whole list of smoothies or fresh juices make from fresh fruits. Any combination is possible! The most popular is the ‘Avocado juice’. Plane with just milk and honey, or a ‘delux’ version with extra dried fruits and nuts. This filling and nutritious juice is my favourite one. I often order these take-away in the afternoon to ease my hungry moments!
Ingredients (for 2 glasses) :
· 1 ripe avocado
· 300 ml milk (I used oatmilk)
· 2 tablespoons of yellow* raisins
· 1 tablespoon poorable honey
· 1 ripe banana
· Pinch of salt
· 1 teaspoon of ‘quatre épices’ spices** (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, clove)
· Optional: raisins & chopped almonds to decorate the drink
*Yellow to keep the colour vibrant green
** If you don’t find the ‘quatre epices’ spices, just use a pinch of each spice the blend contains
Directions:
1. Place all the ingredients in a blender.
2. Bled till everything is mixed and poor in the glasses (It needs to be a quite thick consistence).
3. Decorate with a few raisins, chopped almonds & a pinch of the ‘quatre epices’ spice.
4. Bismileh!
